Shannon Unser is an energetic, passionate, and talented actress from Albuquerque, New Mexico currently living in San Francisco. She recently received two Best Actress nominations for the Epidemic Film Festival at The Castro Theater in San Francisco and proceeded to win for her performance in the scene from About Last Night. Her other nomination for her lead role in a short film titled Gray Parade, Shannon played a young girl coming to terms with the fact that her boyfriend may or may not have raped her. Shannon has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Acting from The Academy of Art University, where she trained with many aspiring acting professors including Heidi Davis, Diane Baker, Jim Jarrett, Andrew Hearto, Cynthia Rogers, Eduardo Rufeisen, Lisa Porter, Fontana Butterfield and Karen Hurst. Shannon’s skills consist of playing varsity volleyball and basketball, scuba certified, gymnastics, classically trained in voice and piano, competition equestrian, advanced snowmobiler, good language skills in Spanish, and much more. Shannon is not only passionate about performing, but she also has a love for the entire filmmaking process. Shannon attended the University of Redlands, CA for two years where she was accepted into The Johnston Program for Integrative Studies. There she created her own major titled, Individual Expression Through Film and Performance Art, which included courses in theater, music, dance, psychology, and film. Shannon performed in a variety of U of R productions her freshman year including, the premiere of Love U a musical directed by Chris Beach, The Saint Plays by Erik Ehn, directed by Nephelie Andonyadis, and A Night at The Movies, a musical theater review put on by the musical theater club. She also attended Berklee College of Music for the 2008 summer semester where she studied voice and musical performance.

In 2009, She was accepted into Prague Film School and attended for the spring semester in January till May. Shannon learned more about being behind the camera and worked on many other student films as assistant director, producer, boom operator, director of photography, script supervisor, make-up designer, runner, catering prep, and actress. She began directing her own films, including her diploma film, Finding Her, which was chosen out of hundreds of entries from around the world as an official selection for the 2010 National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) in Seattle! After working hands-on with the film making process in Prague, Shannon decided to transfer to the Academy of Art University to pursue a degree in Motion Pictures and Television with an emphasis in Acting.

Shannon recently worked as an extra in the hit show Breaking Bad starring Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Betsy Brandt, Dean Norris, Aaron Paul, Jonathon Banks, and more. She also worked as a hipster in the upcoming film Frank starring Michael Fassbender, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Scoot McNairy, and Domhnall Green. She is currently editing many projects including two shorts, which she wrote, directed, and starred in as well as a documentary called "Straw" that she produced to display on the restaurant’s website. No matter where she goes, Shannon is always pursuing her dreams, determined to improve herself as an artist and to continue growing through life experiences.
